An editor's marks

If you want to know what my editing looks like then use these marks and add more words to the mix.


It all looks like lots of little scribbles at first but you get the hang of it rather quickly once you realise just how useful they are. I suggest learning these if you haven't already. They make life a lot easier when substantive and copy editing your work prior to handing it in to an agent or publishing house.

Also, learning these and some other variants will help you understand an editors marks when it comes to working with an editor (although you won't have nearly as much input as you think once you reach the editing stage through a publishing house. Still, it helps you understand what is being done).
