Allergy free hoisin sauce substitute recipe



Ingredients

  • ½ cup allergy free soy sauce replacer
  • ¼ cup black bean paste
  • 2 tbsps honey
  • 4 tsps white vinegar
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • 4 tsps sesame seed oil or olive oil
  • 1 tsp Chinese-style hot sauce or available chilli sauce
  • ¼ tsp powdered black pepper


Method

  • In a small saucepan cook the ingredients over a low heat until the honey or molasses has dissolved.
  • Do not boil.
  • Pour into a sterilised jar and store in the refrigerator.
  • Shake well before use.
  • Store for up to a month.
