Particularly with regards to female characters, which tend to be merely mentioned rather than featured in Tolkien's works. This seems an odd topic but I've noticed how many of you are interested in tattooed quotes. Personally, some of those commonly chosen I wouldn't tattoo on me, even though I can appreciate the quote. That said, other's I love. So, I thought I occasionally put together a list of favourite quotes per book or author I wouldn't mind either tattooed on me or seeing on someone else. Ones that would bring a smile.

The important question was, where to start. Well, why not start with the classic book Alice in Wonderland as it is one of the best for bringing a smile to someone's face.

• "Curiouser and curiouser!" - Alice.

• "Who are YOU?" said the Caterpillar.

  This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation.  Alice replied, rather shyly, "I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then." - Alice and the Caterpillar.

  
  

 I'd suggest some form of shortening for this one. Maybe taking out all but the dialogue so that it reads:

"Who are YOU?"
