Personally, as much as the illustrations are beautiful they are spooky. Which means it is my kind of book and I just have to get a copy. If only I were rich...

The Codex Seraphinianus
Said to be the strangest book ever made was originally published in Italy in 1981. Created by artist, architect and industrial designer Luigi Serafini between 1976 and 1978, the book is 360 pages long and written in a unique alphabet that's mostly unreadable. It is in essence an illustrated encyclopedia of an imaginary world, the artworks of which are abstract and highly colourful. It contains numerous illustrations of the flora, fauna, anatomies, fashions, and foods of the artist's imaginary world. Here's why it is such a strange book:

Quirky bookmarks
I've been buried in superannuation and editing all this morning and to lighten the mental strain I went searching for quirky bookmarks I could buy and ideas for ones I could make when I next need a mental break.
I want this one! Just pondering how I could make one.
Cute, though I can imagine breaking a lot of them, the tangles they could make and torn pages.
These look like they'd be simple to make but I have to figure out the pattern.
I like these. Drowning in words... I know the feeling.
