Best fictional birds

This is in honour of Vivian, the white cockatiel, who died today of a tumour. I only had him for a little while as he was an escapee but he was a lovely, if cantankerous, bird. Full of character. He was said to be trained but ended up training me really. I did what he wanted and spoke birdy language more than he spoke words. Standard procedure about this house though usually such relationships are with cats.

Two notes: There seems to be a disproportionate number of male birds to females in fiction and also owls to any other bird, with ravens and eagles coming next. Still, of the best there are a fair number of chickens, ducks and canaries.
