One apple became cinnamon apple crisps while the other apple became vanilla apple crisps.
Ingredients
- 2 small apples, fresh (roughly one serve)
- Cinnamon sugar
- Nutmeg and sugar
- Allspice and sugar
- Cracked pepper
- Salt
- Ginger powder
- Vanilla sugar
Method
- On top of 2 large biscuit trays lined with aluminium foil, place 2 cooling racks
- Preheat the oven to 95°C.
- Core for fast eating or leave as is for prettier chips.
- Slice the 2 apples as paper thin as possible. Don't worry if they aren't uniform in shape as they just need to be thin enough to be dried out.
- Spread the apple slices in a single layer over on the cooling racks.
- Sprinkle over your choice of seasoning.
- Cook in the oven for 1 hour.
-
Turn over, sprinkle again with seasoning and
bake for another half hour to an hour until lightly browned and crisp. Remove as they become crisp enough and store.
- Store in an airtight container such as a zippered sandwich bag.
Notes
- If you'd like an even healthier version choose sweeter apples and drop the sugar from the seasoning.
- The thicker the slice the longer it will take to become a chip.
